Armenia, Iran Expand Cooperation on Energy, Transport
The two ministers reviewed plans for constructing a second bridge at the Armenia-Iran border and highlighted the need to complete a third electricity transmission line linking the two countries. They also discussed steps aimed at making cross-border freight transportation more efficient, according to reports.
Mirzoyan updated Araghchi on efforts to advance the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, including the potential opportunities it could provide for countries throughout the region. The discussions also highlighted Iran’s backing for the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.
The officials further addressed cooperation in the field of public information, including the need to respond appropriately to what they characterized as unnecessary speculation appearing in the media.
They also exchanged assessments of regional developments. Mirzoyan said Armenia was closely following the evolving situation and emphasized that unresolved issues should be addressed through negotiations.
