Repsense To Counter Election Disinformation As New EU Trusted Flagger

Repsense designated as a Trusted Flagger under the EU Digital Services Act, covering content that harms civic discourse, elections or public security.

Europe has many important elections ahead, and they will bring challenges – our job is to make sure coordinated campaigns don't get the time they need to distort public debate.”
— Mykolas Katkus, CEO of Repsense
VILNIUS, VILNIUS, LITHUANIA, September 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Repsense, a narrative intelligence company, has been granted the status of Trusted Flagger under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) by the Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania (RRT), the country's Digital Services Coordinator. The designation covers content that has a negative effect on civic discourse or elections and content that poses a risk to public security.

More than 70 organisations across the EU hold Trusted Flagger status, and the network keeps growing – each new designation adds capacity to spot illegal content early and get platforms to act on it. Repsense is one of six in the EU designated for content that harms civic discourse or elections.
The designation comes as Europe's election calendar fills up: more national votes are ahead this autumn, and in 2027 France elects a president while parliamentary elections are due in seven EU member states, including Spain, Poland and Italy.

As a Trusted Flagger, Repsense will submit notices to online platforms – including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube – about illegal content in its designated area of expertise. Under the DSA, platforms are legally required to review notices from Trusted Flaggers with priority, ahead of reports submitted by regular users.
"Coordinated information campaigns do their damage in the first hours. Our platform and analysts can detect a push like that as it forms, and the Trusted Flagger status lets us bring it to the platforms' attention while the hostile campaign is still unfolding. Europe has many important elections ahead, and they will bring challenges – our job is to make sure coordinated campaigns don't get the time they need to distort public debate," says Mykolas Katkus, CEO of Repsense.

Repsense operates a narrative intelligence platform that detects narratives across text, broadcast and video, classifies them by meaning rather than keywords, and maps the account networks that spread them – surfacing coordinated inauthentic behaviour and foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI) campaigns before a narrative takes hold. The company has monitored election information environments in Armenia, Moldova and Hungary, and studied the architecture of Russian propaganda for the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence.
