Azerbaijan Continues Fuel Shipments to Armenia Amid Expanding Transport Cooperation
(MENAFN) Azerbaijan has sent another consignment of petroleum products to Armenia, delivering 479 tons of diesel fuel transported in eight railcars, according to reports.
Officials said that this shipment is part of a broader flow of energy supplies between the two countries in recent months. So far, exports have reportedly included more than 8,500 tons of diesel fuel, along with 979 tons of AI-92 gasoline and 2,955 tons of AI-95 gasoline delivered to Armenia.
In addition to fuel deliveries, transit activity has expanded to include goods originating from Russia and passing through Azerbaijani territory en route to Armenia. These shipments reportedly include tens of thousands of tons of grain, fertilizer, aluminum, and buckwheat.
Authorities noted that Azerbaijan first began sending domestically produced petroleum products to Armenia in December, marking a notable development in regional trade relations.
According to reports, the growing exchange follows a political agreement reached during a trilateral summit held in the United States in August 2025, where leaders from Azerbaijan and Armenia, alongside the U.S. president, agreed on steps aimed at ending long-standing hostilities. The framework included commitments to cease fighting, reopen transport corridors, and move toward normalization of relations between the two South Caucasus neighbors.
