OMNEX 2026 Business Forum Seeks to Expand Demand for Turkish Products

(MENAFN) The two-day Türkiye-Oman business forum and trade event OMNEX 2026, held in Muscat, is expected to increase interest in Turkish products across the region, Turkish Deputy Trade Minister Sezai Ucarmak told Anadolu.

Speaking on the sidelines of the forum, Ucarmak emphasized that such events play a crucial role in connecting Turkish and Omani business communities. He noted that Türkiye’s exports to the region have grown 60-fold over the past 23 years and fourfold since 2017. While trade has historically been dominated by imports, he added, exports are expected to rise further if transportation challenges are addressed.

Ucarmak highlighted the popularity of Turkish cuisine at a festival organized as part of the forum, saying, “The high turnout at the fair boosted interest in Turkish products and revealed a serious demand in the region for Turkish products.” He also pointed out that events like OMNEX 2026 allow every product manufactured in Türkiye to be promoted globally, and the arrival of Omani businesspeople in Türkiye is expected to strengthen these promotional efforts.

“Türkiye’s vision is to have very good relations with neighbors,” Ucarmak said, noting that the Alican Customs Gate will open next month, facilitating exports to other countries and easing transit for Turkish exporters to Armenia and beyond.

Yunus Ete, chair of the Türkiye-Oman Business Council at the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), added that preparations for OMNEX 2026 began in 2025, and strong participation from Türkiye and other countries is expected to help achieve the $5 billion trade volume target between Türkiye and Oman.
